The Opportunity

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and self-motivated Research Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our CEO/CTO and Technology team to plan and execute a range of research and development projects to advance the company’s technical and commercial priorities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Characterize wastewater effluent from a range of industries and sectors.
Perform technical feasibility studies with our bench-top electro-oxidation reactors, and monitor water quality parameters (e.g., COD, TOC, TDS, TSS, pH, color, turbidity, conductivity, etc.).
Establish standard operating procedures for in-house testing, as required.
Prepare scientific reports for internal and external stakeholders (e.g., customers, internal records, reporting grant agencies, government, etc.).
Support Technology leadership in the design and planning of experiments as required.
Train and supervise R&D co-op students and interns.
Actively participate in weekly R&D meetings.
Manage basic lab and equipment maintenance for seamless day-to-day activities.

To succeed in this role in particular, you likely possess a number of the following experiences and skills:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering.
1-3 years of practical work experience in a wet chemistry lab environment.
Experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis of contaminants in water (e.g., COD, TOC, TDS, TSS, pH, color, turbidity, conductivity).
Familiarity with the procedures in “Standard methods for the examination of water and wastewater” is preferred.
Experience or knowledge of water treatment processes, especially on advanced oxidation processes, is an asset.
