What a whirlwind the past few days have been! From May 27-30, Vancouver transformed into a global hub of innovation, and we at Viridis were right in the thick of it. Web Summit Vancouver 2025 didn't just meet our expectations – it blew them away.

Kicking Off with Vancouver Startup Week
The excitement started even before the Web Summit officially began. Vancouver Startup Week kicked off with incredible energy, and we were thrilled to be part of the action at the Ecosystem Showcase held at Science World. It was the perfect venue to connect with our amazing local startup community - fellow entrepreneurs, investors, and industry stakeholders who are all passionate about building solutions that matter. The curiosity and engagement reminded us why we love what we do – we're not just building technology; we're building the future of sustainable water management.

Dr. Macarena Cataldo Honored at Web Summit Vancouver
The highlight of our Web Summit Vancouver experience was undoubtedly the recognition of our CEO, Dr. Macarena Cataldo. She was selected as a Top 5 winner at the prestigious MistyWest HardTech Awards. . It was inspiring to see Maca receive this well-deserved acknowledgment during such a prominent event.
As Maca beautifully articulated during her acceptance speech, "hardware is indeed challenging, but it's also where some of the most impactful change happens." This award isn't just recognition for her – it's validation for our entire team's commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in hard tech innovation.

Web Summit: Where the World Comes to Vancouver
The main event at Web Summit didn't disappoint. Our booth buzzed with activity as we demonstrated our demo unit to attendees from every corner of the globe. It was striking to see how universal the need for innovative water technology solutions truly is. Whether we were chatting with someone from Silicon Valley, Vancouver, or Stockholm, the conversation always circled back to the critical challenges we're solving.
Reconnecting with our valued industry partners was another significant highlight, underscoring how collaboration drives the best outcomes in tech innovation. Those "aha!" moments, when you realize how different technologies and approaches can perfectly complement each other, were abundant. We want to give a special shoutout to organizations like Innovate BC, Invest in BC, Invest Vancouver, and Mosaic Accelerator for being such incredible partners.
One of the most fascinating aspects of this year's Web Summit was the massive presence of AI companies. The spectrum of their work was mind-boggling – from companies developing AI solutions that are saving lives and revolutionizing healthcare, to others driving remarkable efficiency improvements in daily operations.

Looking Forward: The Power of Community
As we pack up our demo units and reflect on an incredible week, we're already looking forward to next year’s event. Vancouver's startup ecosystem is thriving, and being part of this community of innovators gives us energy for the challenges ahead.
Web Summit Vancouver 2025 reinforced something we already knew but love being reminded of: when passionate people come together to solve meaningful problems, magic happens. Whether it's revolutionizing water management, advancing hardware innovation, or simply creating spaces where ideas can flourish, we're all part of something bigger.
Here's to the connections made, the problems solved, and the innovations yet to come!
